Originally from Doylestown PA, now based out of New York City, Lucas Ebeling is one of today’s leading young drummers. Lucas' universal approach to music rooted in the jazz idiom has allowed him to perform a wide variety of musical styles. He has performed in world renowned venues both nationally and internationally alongside Grammy Award winning artists. In 2023 Lucas began touring and recording with New York City based rock n roll band “The Thing”, playing over 200 shows in both the US/Europe since. In NYC Lucas leads his own jazz group that performs both publicly and privately.

Lucas grew up in a musical household and started playing the drums at 10 years old, learning by jamming in his dad's punk-rock band and then forming his own metal band at age 11 with his older brother Max. At 16, Lucas shifted his focus and began playing professional jazz gigs in the Philadelphia area. During this time, he learned from and was mentored by Philadelphia musicians, Larry Tamanini, Mike Boone and Byron Landham. By age 18, Lucas left home to attend New York University as an Honors Scholar. At NYU he studied music with jazz royalty Lenny White, Billy Drummond and Alan Broadbent. He now works as a freelance and touring drummer.
